Course of Study for Electrology Training--We're Here for You! |
Our curriculum ranges from
325-1600 hours of fun theoretical and practical hands-on training.
The number of hours is determined by the state regulations of the state you plan
to practice in. Examples of pricing and scheduling are based on our
600 hour Wisconsin Standards course. If
your state requires more or less hours, we can custom design a program for you
and as a result time and costing figures will naturally differ.
During your theory studies, you will learn the scientific concepts that lay a foundation for understanding the treatments you will be offering to clients including subjects such as:
The structure and function of the skin an hair, hair growth cycles, human anatomy and systems, healing mechanisms of the body, common dermatological issues, treatment methods and modalities, contraindications, and basic concepts in electricity.
You will also learn about the laws and codes as well as professional standards that govern our profession and their implications for your treatment protocol and processes. We will learn how to operate our machinery and how to organize your treatment spaces. We will study the sanitation, sterilization and hygiene concepts and documentation techniques that are important to our field. We will also begin to lay the foundation for creating your own electrolysis business.
For the practical portion of your training we will take all of this newly acquired background knowledge and see how it fits into the everyday actions and routines your new career will require. You will actually practice by doing the skills that you will need to become a successful electrologist and to pass demanding board and certification examinations. Among the topics we will explore in your practical:
We will learn epilation techniques and practice them upon live models. We will also focus on proper ergonomics and body mechanics so you can work for a lifetime without having repetitive motion type issues.
We will also work to develop your business skills and understanding of your particular market area and how your career would fit into that market as well as personalize the marketing and documentation materials you will need to start your practice or enhance the one you will be working in.
We will help you learn a series of habits and routines that make proper sanitation and sterilization requirements instinctive and efficient. We will show you how to set safe and accurate treatment plans to get the most efficient results for your clients.
We will help you develop an informative and educational consultation to help you gain client compliance with your treatment plan recommendations.

At River Rock we make a Rock Solid pledge to your success
Since our
inception in 2004, student success post graduation and actual skill level is
critically important to us at River Rock. Not every one who applies is
accepted to our program and not everyone who starts may graduate if they don't
put forth the effort required. We want to make sure that our graduates are
not just acceptable, but are as strong as they can be.
We will help you strive to your personal and professional best. To that end, if you should finish the contracted number of hours and still feel you are not comfortable with your skill level or need more time with monitored practice then you may stay or return for additional training at no extra cost to you. By the same token, if we feel you are not at a level of practice that will allow you to pass your Board exams or be successful in the workplace, then we will also ask you to stay for additional training at no cost to you. We provide accurate and honest feedback to our students so they always know right where they stand with skills.
Graduates frequently come home to River Rock to brush up their skills, attend continuing education courses and conferences, and just for a skill evaluation or to have questions answered. We don't think our relationship with you ends at graduation--your tuition includes many post graduation resources.
You are taking an important step in your personal growth to start at River Rock and we want to make sure it is the first step on a journey to learning and discovery that never ends.
